PUBLIC LECTURE TITLED
The Department of Antiquities announces that on the occasion of the completion of the study on the lighting of the castles of Kato Pafos, Lemesos, Larnaka and Kolossi, a public lecture is organized, to be delivered by Dr Yiannis Eliades, contractor of the project and specialist on the study and application of lighting on monuments and museums, on behalf of “EON”, an Athens-based company. The lecture will take place on Monday, 3rd of October 2016, between 10:00 – 12:00 a.m. in the Medieval Hall of Kasteliotissa, within the old city and close to the Pafos Gate.
The study is part of the efforts of the Department of Antiquities to preserve and promote the cultural heritage of Cyprus, and is funded by the European Commission, through the Structural Reform Support Service for Cyprus. The objective is to create, through lighting, the conditions required for the promotion of the exterior and interior surfaces of the castles, in a way that respects and highlights the unique features and authenticity of the monuments. The lecture is open to the public.
