HIstorical Background
Aeronautical Information Service was established and operates in accordance with ICAO Annex 15, to dispose of aeronautical information and data to interested aircrew and units air traffic control units .
Since its establishment AIS is working on a 24 hour basis. Originallybased in Nicosia Airport, but after the turkish invasion it was moved to Larnaca Airport in February 1975 . Aerodrome Reporting Office (ARO) also operates in Paphos airport .
In the context of development and modernization of services provided, AIS was upgraded with the international quality management standard ISO9001: 2008, in September 2009.
