Palazzo Quirinale, Rome
19 October 2012 - 5 January 2013
The exhibition is organised within the framework of Cyprus' Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
The exhibition includes 56 ancient objects which are linked to the development of the cult of Aphrodite from prehistory to the Roman period. It aims to demonstrate that the ideas and historic realities embodied in goddess Aphrodite in fact reflect the role that Cyprus played in the development of the wider Mediterranean culture.
A catalogue of the exhibition has been published in Italian.
The exhibition was inaugurated by the President of Cyprus and the President of Italy on 17 October 2012.
