Aircraft Maintenance Engineers


This section is responsible for the licensing of Aircraft Maintenance Engineers and for the approval of Maintenance Training Organisation in accordance with Part-147 regulation.

All procedures regarding AME’s licensing and MTO’s approval are in accordance with Commission Regulation (EC) No 1321/2014 of 26th November 2014 on the continuing airworthiness of aircraft, aeronautical products, parts and appliances, and on the approval of organisations and personnel involved in these tasks.

- Aircraft Maintenance Engineers Licensing

Certifying staff shall be qualified in accordance with the provisions of Annex III (Part-66), except as provided for some cases of Annex I (Part-M) and of Annex II (Part 145).

This area covers issues related to:

- License Initial Issue

- License Variation

- Examination Credit Reports

- Conversion of National Privileges

- Assessment of non-Part-147 Type Training Courses

- Acceptance of OJT programs

Pre requisites for application for the issue of aircraft maintenance engineer’s license and aircrew license by Cyprus Department of Civil Aviation


- Part-147 Maintenance Training Organisations

Organisations involved in the training of personnel referred to previous paragraph, shall be approved in accordance with Annex IV (Part-147) to be entitled:

(a) to conduct recognised basic training courses; and/or

(b) to conduct recognised type training courses; and

(c) to conduct examinations; and

(d) to issue training certificates

Any maintenance training organisation approval issued or recognised by a Member State in accordance with the JAA requirements and procedures and valid at the time of entry into force of this Regulation shall be deemed to have been issued in accordance with this Regulation.
