PROTECTION OF PERSONAL DATA

Informing data subjects and transparency in the Electronic Information System for the Internal Market (IMI).

With the implementation of Regulation (EU) 1024/2012 (Regulation IMI) as from December 4th, 2012, the Competent Authorities have an important obligation with respect to the rights of data subjects in IMI. Three standard texts have been prepared concerning the right to information about the processing of their data referred to in Article 18 of the Regulation.

Apart from the above obligation, in Article 19 there is a reference to the right of access, correction and deletion. In particular, the Competent Authorities should ensure that data subjects can exercise their right of access to data relating to IMI, and the right to correct inaccurate or incomplete data and deletion of unlawfully processed data.
