Licences for technicians of Vehicles







Under the Vehicle Technicians Laws of 2006 and 2009, for the maintenance and/or repair of a vehicle or a component a licence is required which is given, under specific requirements, by the Director of the Department of Electrical and Mechanical Services. The licence is given to natural persons only, for one or more of the following 12 specialties” 1. Electrical mechanic 2. Car mechanic 3. Moped and motorcycle mechanic 4. Body repairer 5. Diesel pump technician 6. Painting technician 7. Tires technician 8. Steering wheel alignment technician 9. Air conditioning technician 10. Instruments technician 11. Exhaust systems technician 12. Radiator technician The manner and the prerequisites for the issuing of a licence, the obligations of licensed vehicle technicians as well as other provisions of the relevant legislation are given also in an informative leaflet issued by the Department. It should be noted that one of the prerequisites (depending on the academic qualifications of the interested person and the specialty he is interested in getting a licence) is success in written examinations organised from time to time by the Department. The subject matter of examinations has been defined by a relevant Decree issued by the Minister of Communications and Works.
