Inspection of Petrol Road Tankers







In accordance with the Petrol (Amending No 2) Regulations of 2002, all movable petrol tanker trucks must be designed and operate in such a way that remaining fumes are contained in the tanker during the filling or the emptying of petrol. The regulations also set the specifications for the filling of the tank from the bottom, the collection of fumes and the protection from overfilling. The Director of the Electrical and Mechanical Services authorizes persons having the suitable qualifications, the training, the experience and the technical means to carry out air-tightness tests as well as controls about the proper functioning of the vacuum/pressure valve of the petrol tank.
